Please reach me at hello@ashacounselling.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, I offer both! I am located in Camperdown, NSW for in-person sessions but can also meet with you in the community if you would prefer (e.g. your home, a cafe, or a park).
Online sessions can take place via Google Meet, FaceTime, or audio call and are available Australia-wide.
60 min session - $150
I understand that the times in which we need mental health support the most are often the times we can afford it the least. For my clients experiencing financial hardship, I am happy to negotiate an hourly rate to fit your budget - please contact me.
Please note that counselling does not currently attract Medicare rebates.
I currently accept payment in cash, bank transfer, and PayPal.
You can request a counselling appointment HERE or by reaching out directly through the contact page. My upcoming availability will be communicated to you once we can confirm we are good fit to work together, however, I am only available on weekends at present.
The frequency of counselling sessions is dependent on your individual needs and goals. In general though, fortnightly or monthly sessions are common at the beginning of therapy to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and address immediate concerns effectively. As progress is made and you begin to feel more empowered, we can have a chat about adjusting the frequency of sessions to fit your evolving needs. Ultimately, the decision on how frequently to attend counselling sessions will be a collaborative one to ensure the best outcomes for your personal growth and wellbeing.
Yes, counselling is confidential and non-judgemental. As a registered counsellor, I uphold strict ethical standards, and anything discussed during our sessions remains between us. You can express yourself openly without fear of judgment, creating a safe and supportive space for your healing and growth.
However, there are a few circumstances in which I may legally be required to break confidentiality. If I have reason to believe that you are at risk of harming yourself or others, I am legally obligated to report this to the appropriate authorities. I am also a mandatory reporter which means I am required to report any suspected active child abuse to government authorities. I will be making case notes after each session in order to track your progress, and these notes can be subpoenaed by a court if you become involved with a legal matter. Please rest assured that I will inform you if any of the above circumstances arise.
It is important to understand that I do not provide crisis counselling, which means that if you need help immediately, you will need to contact an emergency counselling service which you can find HERE.
I am generally not available for phone calls or texting regarding counselling matters outside of our agreed session time because I will be working with other clients and need to be able to give them my full attention, just as I will provide to you in our own sessions. If you come across a topic that you would like to discuss in counselling outside of your session, I would love for you to write it down in your journal or on your phone so we can explore it together during our next session! You are welcome to contact me regarding scheduling matters between our sessions.
